The Furniture Bank presents the 3rd annual Chair Affair this Thursday, November 1st at Palais Royale. Hosted by Global Television’s Susan Hay and presented by Streetcar Developments, this year’s theme explores Vibrant Toronto.
The gala will showcase ten of Toronto’s premier artists and designers who have donated their talents and time to create unique and extraordinary works of art using ordinary chairs. Designers took the challenge of turning ordinary chairs from Furniture Bank’s warehouse into works that reflect this world-class city. Participants can bid on these one-of-a-kind chairs, repurposed by some of Toronto’s best artists and designers, including CBC’s Steven and Chris, Heidi Richter and Paul Lafrance from HGTV’s Decked Out, Natalie Hodgson of Sarah Richardson Design, Cherry Bomb vintage, UNION 31 and Seven Haus Design.

Guests will also have a chance to bid on over 40 “Chairs to Experience,” all part of a silent auction, which include tickets and a VIP Experience to George Stroumboulopoulos, a signature art work from JessGo by visual artist Jessica Gorlicky, Steven and Chris show tickets and VIP experience, a stay at The Old Mill, a Taiko drumming workshop, a private dinner by Chef Daniel Holloway, sports and theatre tickets, as well as the opportunity to sit in the chair of some of Toronto’s top stylists.
