Following their award-winning production of pool (no water) (2018 Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble), Cue6 Theatre presents the Toronto premiere of Dry Land.
Ester is a swimmer trying to stay afloat. Amy is curled up on the locker room floor. Dry Land is a play about abortion, female friendship, female friendship, and what happens in one high school locker room after everybody’s left.
Dry Land is the first full-length play from American playwright Ruby Rae Spiegel. Spiegel was only 21 when Dry Land was shortlisted for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. Dry Land has gone on to receive acclaim across the US, UK and Australia.
Cue6 Theatre’s production, helmed by Dora Award-winning director Jill Harper, features an incredible cast of newcomers including Mattie Driscoll, Veronica Hortiguela, Jonas Trottier and Reanne Spitzer; as well as an award-winning design team including Simon Rossiter and Tim Lindsay.
