So that time of the year is fast approaching… TIFF time! Like some of you have read, I am a bit of a film nut and frequent various film festivals. The one, the big one… the Toronto International Film Festival is weeks away.
I have yet to find out the full list of the films that we’ll get to sample this year. However, check out the tiff08 website regularly for press releases; that’s where you’ll find the most up-to-date information. The full list for the Midnight Madness program is available. I am looking forward to JCVD, a film that stars Jean Claude Van Damme in an “action-comedy”, which also takes a look at the nature of fame. There is an array of Spanish-Language films, like Empty Nest by Daniel Burman which will be one of this year’s galas. I am looking forward to the premiere of Religulous by Bill Maher and Larry Charles. I attended the Mavericks presentation at last year’s festival and from the clips they presented, some controversy will arise. There will be lots to see and talk about this year… as per usual, there will also be plenty of celebrities and great talent around downtown.
I will have the pleasure of writing for the Doc Blog this year. Please visit this and the rest of the TIFF’s blogs regularly to keep updated on films for you to attend.
