A Soul In Retrograde
By M. Khamal Murray
My Soul In retrograde
Can fight no other battle
But that of survival
For I can not see clearly
Or Unravel the threads
Of Good & Evil
Or Hate & Love
My desires are not so Simple
To be balanced on Morals,
On Ethics, on Laws
On Ideas so complex…
Or are they just simple
Balls and chains weighing us down?
Are morals the erroneous
choice by which to Measure the
Animal things that we were/are…
Are we still?
For what Appetites must I deny
To pacify conceptions of I, You, Me.
Me as a Universal Being – a Being that is a Universe unto myself…
And here I think of a flesh tool
By which you can pacify yourself
And my Appetites all in one. *smiles
My Mind,
Is all I have,
A Weapon against
Those proverbial legs – fallacious pillars
That left the Greek warrior Achilles
Vulnerable to my dissection of “Ideologies”- The genesis of our Algorithmic-Ancestry…
For Desires, Ethics and Morals
are also platforms by which Human-ness, the Human-Animal dies and the Android confined by rules appears and ultimately is inexplicably Present,
This is the Nexus – a Soul in Divide,
A Metaphysical thing
Bridged by numbers and theories,
An organic creature – Human-
Succumbing to its Death
As much as it exudes its future Life
as a whole mathematical equation – a resurrection of a new algorithm,
A Soul in retrograde
Is a Soul escaping it’s own parameters and reaching beyond the cosmic background radiation of the Universe’s edge to find Purpose.
