What do a pair of signed ballet slippers, Dual Audio sound equipment, a Steam Whistle brewery tour and Luminato passes have in common? They’re all things you can bet on at the SummerWorks live auction this Saturday night.
For 20 years SummerWorks has showcased ground-breaking, high-quality Canadian theatre. This milestone year promises to be no exception, with more than 40 plays, indie concerts, workshops, walking tours and a host of other initiatives.
The Launch Party provides the perfect entry into this season’s events, whether you are a veteran SummerWorks fan or a first-time attendee. Take in musical performances from Matthew Barber and Boys Who Say No, and theatrical performances from The National Theatre of the World (producers of Impromptu Splendour), Nina Arsenault, Jordan Tannahill of Post Eden, Prison Dancer and more.
Savour great eats from The Lakeview, try your luck in a silent auction and get a peek into The Lower Ossington Theatre, the latest addition to the SummerWorks collection of venues.
The party is open to all theatre-lovers. In the words of Festival Artistic Producer Michael Rubenfeld, “SummerWorks knows how to throw it down. Come to one of the best parties in town and find out what’s in store for our 20th edition.”
