TEDxWomen is an event focused on enabling people on every continent of the globe to hear a diverse array of female voices and perspectives. Likewise, TEDxTheAnnexWomen is a collective of women in Toronto, who are driven to turn ideas into action and create a supportive and collaborative community.
This Thursday, May 28th, join me and other enthusiastic women at the University Club of Toronto for the second Toronto-based TEDxWomen event TEDxTheAnnexWomen!
This year’s headline speaker is Almas Jiwani, the President of UN Canada Women, will be joined by Toronto City Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam, and other great local females sharing their ideas.
The event, set to take place from 12:30pm to 6:30pm, will be emceed by CityTV’s Tammie Sutherland, and will include a live streaming of the TED Global conference, a World Cafe, and networking reception to follow with food and wine.
Live streaming an event is a fantastic way to ensure that it reaches a wide audience. If you would like further information about the possibilities that online streaming can create, take a look at some of the resources on the Smart Works website.
The World Café is a unique component of this TEDxWomen event. Through a structured methodology and a series of provoking questions themed around “Momentum“, participants can share ideas with their peers, track emergent conversations, and connect more deeply with the conversations the speakers will inspire.
TEDxTheAnnexWomen is comprised of like-minded women interested in discovering local initiatives in Toronto that have big impact while supporting female voices who are building their community. If you know of any women (or men) who would like to attend this year’s event, please spread the word.
You can partake in this unique experience, uncover new ideas, and be part of the TEDxTheAnnexWomen team in action. For more information visit the TEDxTheAnnexWomen website. To purchase tickets, go here.
