The Next Stage Theatre Festival (NSTF) returns with a line-up of indie theatre creators that will illuminate the stages of Factory Theatre from January 7th to 18th. This year the festival features companies from across Canada, showcasing the very best indie theatre in the country. While some of the shows have appeared at previous Fringe Festivals, most are new works by established Fringe artists who have demonstrated the passion and tenacity to take their work to the next stage.
My first time attending NSTF last year was full of great performances and definitely memorable. This year, I have taken the time to go through the festival’s line-up and pick a few shows that I think some of you will enjoy.
Factory Theatre Mainspace:
(Double Income, No Kids) – high-grade professionals. He is a Major in the armed forces and she
works for a fertility clinic. Everything about this marriage is splendid, until the family is disrupted
by a heinous lie, and its victims unleash their fury.

Synopsis: The show will feature some best-loved sketches from the duo’s repertoire, alongside
plenty of daring new material. The show will be loaded with surreal humour, memorable characters, and biting social commentary. Expect dance. Expect hilarity. Expect… the unexpected.
