A highlight of the Toronto After Dark film festival is the annual Zombie walk. This year, it took place on Sunday, October 19th. The walk began at Trinity Bellwoods Park on Queen West, up Bathurst Street and ended by the Bloor Cinema.
I decided to take the Bathurst Streetcar from College to Bloor to get ahead of the crowd. While en route, I overheard someone say “Why Zombies?… These people are so strange.” Anyway, a non-connoisseur but I digress… I got to see a good portion of the walk and stayed at Bloor and Bathurst to take some pictures and mingle with the crowd. There were a lot of spectators with camera in hand eager to pose with one of the zombies. There were plenty of opportunities to do just that. We saw the one with an alien baby and a pregnant one with her baby protruding from her bellow. Some very creative zombie outfits, I must say.
At the Annex Wreck room, a band played outside. Many zombies stopped by to get their dance on before going off to the Bloor Cinema. Everyone had a good time and there were very little victims left on the street.
