The various Shorts for Shorties programs at WSFF include some of my favourite shorts. This year, WSFF returns to the CN Tower for another morning of fun for families.
Mission to the Milky Way features some really fun shorts. The shorts that stood out for me in this program are Ernesto, Brad & Gary, and The Lost Years.
Ernesto is seven years old and is having a hard time losing his baby teeth. To his dismay, his teeth are not ready to move on just yet. A cute story about growing up in just the right time.
Brad & Gary are two little critters hanging out in the middle of nowhere. When they start poking around, they need to figure out how to work together to get themselves out of some very interesting and uncomfortable situations. A cute and funny film about friendship.
The Lost Years features Nila the sea turtles. We see Nila embarking on her first journey out to see. This stop-motion film will have you rooting for Nila every stumble and wave along the way.
The program closes with The Itch Of The Golden Nit, which is an animated short made by Aardman Animation Studios (Wallace & Gromit) in collaboration with several hundred British school children. It shares the story of Beanie and his intergalactic mission to save the world.
The entire program is fun and quite entertaining for all age groups. The only screening of Mission to the Milky Way is today, Saturday, June 9 at 10am. It screens at the CN Tower. Each ticket ($25) admits one adult and two children (12 and under) to attend. Have fun on this adventure!
