Frankenstein(esque) brings five artists together along with a 6 foot tall puppet in a loose understanding of Mary Shelley’s original novel, along with conflicting views on parenting and art.
At the centre of the show is an unique and ambitious puppet as the creature, built and designed by Silent Protagonist company founder Graeme Black Robinson, which will be assembled and brought to life on stage to simultaneously defy and delight audiences.

This is Silent Protagonist’s first time back to the Toronto Fringe Festival since the company’s formation at the festival in 2013, with their urban fairytale Or Be Eaten.
Graeme spoke with me about the inspiration for Frankenstein(esque), as well as the poignant themes addressed in the show. He also shared about the script development using a devised creation process by the cast of five under the direction of Nicole Wilson.
