Interview with Vivien Endicott-Douglas
I had the pleasure of speaking with Vivien in between rehearsals and shortly after her debut at Stratford. She shared what her experience has been like thus far and what she appreciates the most about the company and sharing these stories with audiences.
Stratford Festival
Located in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, the company is North America’s largest classical repertory theatre company. Each season, they produce classics, contemporary dramas and musicals, with special emphasis on the plays of Shakespeare.
This season, outgoing Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino has “to explore aspects of this strangely potent art we call the theatre.” From the amateur theatricals of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, to Othello masking his villainy in the guise of a concerned friend, to the dramatic illusion delivers a surprising narrative twist in The King James Bible Play, there are plenty of stories to explore and examine.
