Hannah Levinson made her stage debut at 5 years old in The Sound of Music and at just 17 she is already a three-time Dora Nominee, and a Toronto Theatre Critics Award Winner.
This week, Hannah returns to Toronto’s Coal Mine Theatre for their production of Brendan Jacob’s Jenkins’ APPROPRIATE.
The play follows the members of the Lafayette family as they return to their crumbling Arkansas plantation home on the occasion of the recent death of their patriarch. As his three adult children sort through a lifetime of hoarded mementos and junk, they collide over clutter, debt, and a contentious family history. But after a disturbing discovery surfaces among their father’s possessions, the reunion takes a turn for the explosive, unleashing a series of crackling surprises and confrontations.
Prior to the play’s opening, I had the opportunity to speak with Hannah about her career and her preparations for this very intriguing play.
Performances for APPROPRIATE continue at the Coal Mine Theatre until October 15, 2023.
