Conchi León is a renowned playwright, actorand director from Yucatán, México. She is the founder of the Sa’as Tún Theatre Company. Théâtre français de Toronto kick off its 2018-19 season with a work by Marivaux, La Seconde Surprise de l’amour (The Second Surprise of Love). A unique comedy that explores the winding ways of love, and centres on two women determined to control their respective destinies. Award-winning composer, Federico Jusid, is a multifaceted artist with many titles including concert pianist, conductor, and film and theater producer. He is best known for scoring the Academy Award-winning Best Foreign Language film, The Secret in Their Eyes, which Federico composed with Emilio Kauderer. During TIFF, I had the opportunity to converse with Federico. We talked about his early influences, his work for television, and film.
