Dr. Dwight Chapin practices medical acupuncture and Active Release Technique™, a non-invasive treatment to locate and quickly resolve soft-tissue disorders. He also co-owns and operates a large multi-disciplinary clinic in Mississauga, Ontario, and has led corporate wellness programs for nationally-recognized corporations, including The Globe and Mail, Canada Post, and General Mills Canada Corporation.
In an effort to get us inspired, motivated and more aware about our own self care, he has written a book Take Good Care: 7 Wellness Rituals for Health, Strength & Hope. There is a large body of scientific evidence showing us that strong health over an long period of life is possible. In this new book, Dr. Chapin brings this science to life with a behind-the-scenes look at seven specific wellness rituals practiced by 21 influential Canadians… all accomplished leaders in sport, media, entertainment, healthcare, and business.
The changes caused by the pandemic has left many of us wanting more from life and the return to the ‘status quo’ is not very motivating. We want to feel, think, move, look, and be better. In my interview with Dr. Chapin, we speak about the motivation to start writing Take Good Care…, speaking with influential Canadians, and overall taking good care of ourselves.
Some of the inspiring professionals featured in the book include Jann Arden and Dragons’ Den investor, Jim Treliving who have opened their lives, sharing their formulas for health and success. Dr. Chapin explores the fine details and common ground in their approach to self-care, pursuit of good health, hope, happiness, and other key practices.
Take Good Care… shows us how these 21 inspiring Canadians overcome the challenges of heartbreak, injury, obesity, addiction, and self-sabotage by putting the science of the 7 Wellness Rituals to work.
The book contents are accessible in terms of layout and content. The personal stories shared along with some suggestions or ‘to dos’ give us context in how we can make changes in our daily routines for the better regardless of where or how we start. I am excited to recalibrate my own wellness rituals and hope details about the book along with this conversation leaves you feeling inspired.
