I first met Carolyn Mauricette at the Blood In The Snow Film Festival (BITS) a few years back. I have also been following her write on View From The Dark, where she examines and writes about genre film from a Woman of Colour’s perspective.
Aside from her writing, Carolyn is also a programmer at BITS. I am happy to have had a chance to speak with her about her writing, and about her role as programmer at BITS and some of her picks at this year’s festival.
Below is a link to our full conversation, in which Carolyn talks about her writing; her podcast, Reely Melanated, which she co-hosts with Ashlee Blackwell; and the future of BITS.
We also talk about some films showing at this year’s festival including:

With Shout outs to:
AN IMPOSTER by Tyler A. Williams, and
SOUL CONTACT by Justin McConnell.
