‘Tis the Season! Renaissance and Medieval music celebrates Advent,with a Free Medieval & Renaissance Concert on Friday, December 9, 7:30pm, St. Basil’s Church.

Soprano Hallie Fishel and lutenist John Edwards of The Musicians In Ordinary (MIO) are joined by the St Michael’s Schola Cantorum directed by Michael O’Connor. Violinist Christopher Verrette leads the five-piece early music band, Pneuma Ensemble, which specializes in historically informed performance on medieval instruments.

The concert will include plainchant, Cantigas de Santa Maria from 13th century Galicia/Portugal, and works by Italy’s Claudio Monteverdi, England’s Orlando Gibbons and William Byrd, and more.
