Hard-Bitten Productions brings Chantel Winters‘ play Dear Ms. Kitt back to Toronto. After being selected for New York’s 2019 Broadway Bound Theatre Festival, this production is unearthed under the direction of the multi-talented Chantal Forde.
What is the play about
After nearly a decade abroad, Nina, an estranged singer returns home only to discover she’s inherited more than she expected. Forced to confront a past she tried to forget, Nina has to learn to forgive before it’s too late. Dear Ms. Kitt is a powerful family drama about guilt, identity and accountability, held together with a little girl’s love of Eartha Kitt.
At its core Dear Ms. Kitt is the story of a mother and daughter trying to develop a relationship after years of separation. They find common ground in the music of an era long gone.
Warning: coarse language, mature themes, suitable for audiences over 16.
