It’s officially the week between Christmas and New Year’s… what day is it? What time is it?
What to do… what to do? Well, here is a list of family-friendly and overall fun events you can partake and enjoy over this week and into the new year 2023.
Puppetmongers’ Bed & Breakfast
A puppet play for families, aged 5 to 100+
Continues unil December 30th, 2022 | Tarragon Theatre Extraspace
Bed & Breakfast is a charming feminist adaptation of The Princess and the Pea, set in a magnificent miniature mansion of the Edwardian era. With a plot featuring entitled royals, an upstairs/downstairs romance, an epic journey and inter-generational misunderstandings, this is a tale with a heart-warming resolution that appeals to all generations.
I enjoy puppet shows and I am very much looking forward to enjoying this local seasonal favourite.
Please note, masks are mandatory in the theatre.
Peter’s Final Flight: The Pan-Tastical Family Musical
Ross Petty Productions
Continues until January 7, 2023 | The Elgin Theatre
I attended Peter’s Final Flight: The Pan-Tastical Family Musical earlier this season. A bit bittersweet journey after 25 years of live shows, the Maestro of Mayhem, Ross Petty, bids farewell as his favourite role, the villainous Captain Hook. My friends, children and adult alike, and I truly enjoyed ourselves. Everyone in the audience was happy to be back in person to enjoy the talented and fun cast of familiar faces including, Dan Chameroy as the lovable Plumbum; Eddie Glen as Smee; Sara-Jeanne Hosie as the bodacious Helga Hook; Stephanie Sy as Wendy; Alex Wierzbicki as Peter Pan.
Disney Animation: Immersive Experience
Continues until March 19, 202 | Lighthouse Artspace
Disney Animation: Immersive Experience is a celebratory journey of the greatest films of Walt Disney Animation Studios, from their very earliest, groundbreaking features to the beloved hit movies of today.
A friend an I experienced this latest immersive experience a few days ago. It was a lot of fun to reminisce about the films many of us have grown up with, and also see how kids enjoy the new films and songs as well. Regardless of age, you will enjoy your time together reminiscing and singing along.
