Below, I give you my thoughts on some of initial recommendations.
Grant Baldwin’s This Mountain Life offers a closer look at various people whose passion is set high in the peaks of the Coastal Mountains in British Columbia. This feature documentary invites us to learn about those for whom the draw of the mountains has shaped their entire lives.
Beatrice Behn and René Gebhardt‘s documentary The Artist & the Pervert reveals touching truths about Georg Friedrich Haas and Mollena Williams-Haas, who “came out” about their master-slave BDSM relationship and have incorporated it into their work under the world’s glare. READ MORE

Jean-Simon Chartier‘s Playing Hard delves into the creation of For Honor, a video game released by Ubisoft last year with lots of buzz attached to it. With unprecedented access, we get to see the creation of this original-concept game from idea to its market release. READ MORE
Activist and PhD Candidate Mandi Gray, who made headlines from 2015 to 2017 for taking her rapist to court, will premiere her film Slut or Nut at Hot Docs 2018. Slut or Nut is a quirky, touching look at the legal, emotional, and physical struggles survivors face both within Toronto and in greater society. Political cartoonist Mr. Fish (Dwayne Booth) is known for his provocative, intelligent, and overtly political images that continually challenge the state, and the status quo. Pablo Bryant‘s Mr. Fish: Cartooning From The Deep End gives us an opportunity to learn more about Booth’s work, his family, and the ups and downs of working in an industry that is on its way out.
