Alisi Telengut is a Canadian artist of Mongolian origin. Telengut creates animation frame by frame under the camera, with painting as the medium, to generate movement and explore hand-made and painterly visuals for her films. She is a fine artist who happens to work in animation.
Her latest short film, The Fourfold has screened at various film festivals, including Sundance 2021.
Composer for film and theatre, Jonathan Snipes, recently scored the Sundance 2021 horror documentary hybrid film A Glitch in the Matrix, directed by Rodney Ascher.
A Glitch in the Matrix takes audiences on a journey through science and philosophy to examine the theory that humans live in a simulation, and the world as people know it, is not real.

I first met Carolyn Mauricette at the Blood In The Snow Film Festival (BITS) a few years back. I have also been following her write on View From The Dark, where she examines and writes about genre film from a Woman of Colour’s perspective.
Aside from her writing, Carolyn is also a programmer at BITS. I am happy to have had a chance to speak with her about her writing, and about her role as programmer at BITS and some of her picks at this year’s festival.
The 20th edition of aluCine Latin Film + Media Arts Festival returns with a virtual edition this year.
